MANUAL HANDLING INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

This course is to enable personnel to provide basic in-house training in Manual Handling for employees as required by the HSA.

Candidates who have successfully completed this course will be able to:

  • Describe the common manual handling injuries and how they are likely to occur.
  • Make assessments of manual handling operations.
  • Recognise, and relay to trainees correct lifting methods and techniques.
  • Identify effective avoidance and reduction measures.
  • Outline the legal requirements relating to Manual Handling.
  • Instruct others in manual handling assessment and lifting techniques

Assessment and Qualification

Participants will spend the final two days of the course completing their own Manual Handling course for their own use which they take away with them.

Successful participants will also receive a signed certificate, which is valid for 5 years.

Duration and Costs

Manual Handling TrainingThe course consists of five full days training and costs 1,100 euro per participant.
